Duck Hunting Information
|
Here at Sabine Outdoors we are now proud to offer our customers duck hunting. You will be hunting some
of the best marsh that Gulf Coast has to offer. The Sabine area is home to wintering waterfowl of
numerous species. Whether its mallards and pintails or snows and speckle bellies we have it all.
The season starts with early teal season when millions of blue wing teal make their annual migrations
south. The shooting is fast a furious. The season usually starts around mid September, depending on
State and Federal regulations. Your hunt will require little or no effort as the guide will drop you
off in the blind and the retriever will do all the leg work. The blinds consist of pit blinds sunk in
the ground for the ultimate in concealment.
After teal season we take a short break and get ready for
the "Big Boys" to start coming down. Regular duck season starts around the first of November and runs
until almost February. You will typically shoot mallards, pintails, teal, gadwall, mottled, widgeon,
speckle bellies, snows and an occasional Canadian. You will be hunting shallow ponds and flooded flats
that have pit blinds in place to provide you will the most comfortable hunt possible. You will be
hunting with an experienced guide and retriever that know the area and knows where the birds are. So
if duck hunting is your game then Sabine Outdoors is the name.
